hello i have a question about the throttle body on my 1.6 resto project, the coolant hoses that goes from the expansion tank to the throttle body then from the throttle body to the thermostat, can this be bypassed to go from the expansion tank to the thermostat ?

Where the coolant hoses attach to the throttle body both of my alloy connectors have rotted threw any info greatly appreciated

Yes, lot's of people bypass the TB with no problems. In the UK at least, you might get throttle icing in a very cold climate.

I think it is more for heating the throttle body to prevent it from freezing. Not so much for cooling.

So if you're on warm country or driving only on summer, you can by-pass it.

never had issues with mine in the depths of a welsh winter.

you can see on the diagram that there is a hose that takes a direct route, though the original slightky longer one does work
