8v GTi Engine Gaskets - where to buy?

Recommended Posts

Hello

Where is the best place to buy individual engine gaskets from please? I will be after a sump gasket, thermostat housing gasket and the gasket that goes on the two coolant pipes at the back/bottom of the engine by the water pump. Possibly others as I go.

Can you still get individual gaskets from Peugeot?

Thanks

Ashley

I tend to use a local engine remanufacturers and specify Payen Corrteco or Elring brands, they often have a lot on the shelf but there's an FPS branch locally so they will have stock the same day as well.

a fair few of the gaskets you mention are either in a head gasket kit or bottom end kit, singly some may only be dealer.

thermostat housing you can use a decent sealant, Peugeot did this in the factory after a certain date instead of the gasket.

If you're handy with knife and scissors , you can buy gasket paper and make you're own ... say some less complicated and non bulk gaskets , or the ones which you can't find .

I order from EBay, no postal charges and can find Elring and Payen gaskets easily.   Just Had a delivery Of sump,  cam Cover and a couple of other parts this morning.  Never had a problem buying from EBay.

Thanks for the prompt replies. Can you point me to a seller on Ebay who can do all the gaskets I want please? I can find the sump from GSF etc and the thermostat on Ebay, but not the rear coolant flange - though I could make this one as Damir suggests.

Thanks

Ashley

Don’t think you’ll find all you want from one supplier but try Parts In Motion, I’ve found a lot of what I need there, Their EBay shop has free post. Helpful contact number and good Part number referencing, quick delivery.  Anything else, just order from other suppliers one part at a time, most are free post so doesn’t matter how many suppliers you use.

I don’t use Autodoc, too many problems like slow returns, wrong parts sent, overall very slow delivery.

I just recalled another supplier that I have used in the past.

https://www.enginepartsuk.net/

sales@enginepartsuk.net  I think it was Hayley on the emails, very helpful, though I did have a look through all the pdfs they usefully have posted on their website and made a list of the part numbers I was after.

pretty reasonable prices too.

I have used Autodoc quite a bit recently, as with any online purchase do your research with part numbers, stick to decent brands and Ive not had any issues, other than they are a little slow, but it is all coming from Berlin.

Many thanks for the info. Hopefully get these sorted and the engine up and running again shortly.
