309 bonnet cable

Not sure which subforum to put this in - body feels close enough.

 

The spring/clip that tensions the 309 bonnet cable inside the car has snapped, and I haven't come up with any sufficient bodges (replacing the clip isn't possible) so I need to replace the cable.

 

Is this possible without removing the dash?
