Engine spare parts

I am ready to put my 1.6 gti engine back together after re blocking it following a 12” crack below the head bolt threads. 

 

I need to replace main bearings, big end bearings, piston rings, water pump, tensioner and belt etc.  Can anyone recommend somewhere to get all the bits I need? I would imagine Peugeot would be expensive, but I am reluctant to buy from eBay as you don’t know the quality of what you're getting.

find your local old school engine machinist, they'll be able to supply what you need from their trade suppliers.

 

more often than not half the parts are stocked as they are shared across many other engines
