Hello,

Just bought a 1.9 phase 1.5 and shes not mint but happy with what I have for the money. Couple of initial questions and wondered if anyone can help :

- I'm in mid-Kent, does anybody know of any good 205 gti specialists in kent ?

- Car could do with a nice detail....paint is pretty good but the bumpers are very faded i.e.light grey....I'm interested in solutions/ideas you might have for the bumpers in particular.
- I'm going to store car over winter months but sadly probably not indoors, can anyone recommend a real good car cover for the 205 ?                                                                  Thanks all.

Wurth bumper dye is very good. You'll need anthracite for phase 1.5 bumpers.

The wurth dye is very good, lasts a long time and out of everything I have tried would get my vote as being the best option. Just don't use a pressure washer on it after or it will force it off and in patches. I think the company that was once recommended for car mats was Ambassador, not sure if still going, got myself a set from them and was very pleased with them, still in the car now and had them for 6+ years. I had a stormforce car cover I used when mine was stored outside. If it were still outside and I needed another one would be my first choice still.

I bought the ambassador ones, standard velour for £19.99. Very good value, I would recommend.

Body colour has no effect on bumper colour. Up to 1990 - mid grey 1990 on - very dark grey (almost black)

Timpsons wouldn’t do mine. I found a company online where you could take a photo of your key, tell them the make and model, and they cut it based on the photo, and posted it. I was pretty sceptical, but it was cheap so gave it a go. Key works perfectly. Can’t remember the company name, but worth a search online.

thanks again all for your info. Timpsons cut all 3 of mine (door, ignit, boot) onto transponder keys they dont stock non transponder keys allegedly)  and did it as a deal for £30 (should be £15 per key). Apparently only larger Timpsons have the key types to do this. Happy days.

Switch is non standard. Follow the wires see where they go?

Wiper blades any decent car spares shop, they are nothing special.
