Fixing a severed fuel pipe

Recommended Posts

davemar

While doing some bodywork rust repairs I've only gone and cut through one of the fuel pipes with a grinding disc. Don't worry, the fuel tank was removed months ago, so no petrol around to ignite. I could replace the whole pipe, but that looks expensive. Would it be possible to join the two pipes with some rubber hose and clamps? The break is by the bulkhead just below the pedal area, so not far from the end that goes to the rubber hose that goes to the filter.

If it’s the return side then probably be ok. If it’s the high pressure side it’s under 3 bar pressure and the ends would need to be flared to stop the rubber hose pushing off.

To be honest just bite the bullet and change it for a new piece.

I'd spend the money, better that than your 205 going up in flames!

The replacement line from BakerBM are expensive but well made and fit well.

I dont think the lines from BakerBM are expensive, cause they are very well made. Would buy mine again, but they will hold forever
