Front bumper mount clarification

Recommended Posts

I’m just about to install the bumper back on my Gti and its about the only part that I didn't photograph, since the mount brackets and bolts had to be cut off.

Please can someone in the know let me know if the mount configuration shown below is correct?

Does the bumper mounted bracket than slide over this mount as shown below?

There is another larger mount hole in front of the one I have detailed. Am I correct that this is not used on the Gti and does not have the additional rubber as shown below?

Sorry for the “amateur night” questions, I have managed to rebuild the whole car to this stage without having to ask questions like this.

Hi,

im pretty sure that the bigger rubber part should have a metal bushing inside it, then the T bolt passes through the bumper, through the bush,through the metal bracket you’ve shown and then tightened down...

hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Yeti-dj.

In the meantime it has been confirmed that the first two images are correct and that the donut mount in the third image is not used on the Gti front bumper.

Regarding the insert for the large donut mount, I didn't instal it in the mount for the image as I was pretty sure that it was not used.

Correct set up shown below for anyone’s future reference;

Rubber bush is used on the rear GTI bumper not the front.

Thanks Tom, I had already fitted a new “correct” mount on the rear bumper and have now removed the one in the image from the front bumper.
