Standard exhaust system front section (ph2)

Recommended Posts

Tom Fenton

I need a new replacement front exhaust system for my standard ph 2 car.

Looking around the usual suspects and the cupboards appear bare!!

I don't want a Klarius as they are poor quality IMO

Has anyone recently bought a decent quality system, and where from? Walker or Bosal ideally.

Any thoughts please? Anyone saying "fit stainless" please don't bother!

I bought this off ebay  item no 400911877212 walker system if that helps.

Thanks for that Mark. I'd seen that one on ebay, but I was concerned that it may be a cheap and nasty thing, as it didn't mention a manufacturer. Walker have always been decent for me in the past so I've just ordered one and I'll give it a try, thanks again.

It's a Klarius part number on that listing (PG209P) so it might be worth checking they haven't changed supplier.

So quick update, exhaust arrived today, well actually it would have been yesterday but no one was in when they tried to deliver.

Despite the part no it is a Walker exhaust, happy with that tbh for the price.

Fitted tonight no issues, my only really petty moan is that it took me longer to peel off all the stickers than it did to fit it B)

I don't get why they insist on using massive paper labels on exhaust or really thin plastic ones that come off in a 1000 pieces. I feel your pain.

Tom, did the exhaust you ordered have the divider in it?

No. None available now with it in as far as I know.

Tom what's the issue with klarius exhausts ? Are they different to standard in some way or another?

In my experience they don’t fit well and don’t last well. I don’t think any of the pattern exhaust available now are really as good as an oe one would have been, but it’s a case of using what is available. Walker or Bosal are what I choose to use.

Having bought a Walker section for £65 I’m considering buying another to have a go at cutting the downpipe and welding a divider in.

Stewart looked at the divider and the sums didn't add up for him

I've not had to replace anything but a back box as yet. My down pipe has clearly been reused at some point in the past as it's been heavily welded.

I hadnt considered that a replacement standard system might be a problem until now.
