Front suspension, subframe and steering rack build

Recommended Posts

Telf

So after finishing the rear beam - thanks for the help to my stupid questions! - ive got to build the front subframe etc.

My plan is to build it all off the car and bolt it on together. The reasoning behind this is to get the shell back onto its wheels in a  couple of hours as its currently on a dolly being wheeled around.

So are there any pitfalls that I should be aware of before I start please?

Ive rebuilt the shocks already and fitted the hubs and bearings together and have new parts for pretty much everything else. Many thanks

Paul

I'd put the engine/gearbox in before the subframe.

You can lift them in from below with nothing in the way then fit the subframe after it.

You're far less likely to scratch any paint that way.

If you want to roll it around with no drivetrain you need to use some old CVs or bolts and washers to hold the wheel bearings together.
