Boot floor removal tips

Recommended Posts

Philpooma

Has anyone on the forum removed a whole boot floor and can point me in the right direction please?

I have Drilled out the spotwelds

  • On the rear seam (to rear valance panel)
  • On the mid crossmember
  • On the forward most crossmember
  • Down each side of the floor LH & RH from the wheel arch side

The issue that I’m having is that the side seams look like they are overlapped with other metal sections, so its the sides that are not freeing up easily. I was trying to remove the floor in one section with all the flanges complete, but its proving more tricky than I thought.

Any advise appreciated

Did this years ago, and its possible in ome part if I remember correctly, but tricky as f***. I had the practice run on the floor I was swapping out, before taking out the one I was going to use. It's so many welds, and "glue" everywhere. Take your time with the wire brush and be thorough, I'm sure you will find more welds

Thanks for the reply Patrik, I’ll see how it goes tomorrow.

it does seem that there are double seams on the left and right of the floor, this is what is causing me issues.

lets see what happens tomorrow.....;)
