allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted July 24, 2018 Imo the A048 is a far superior tyre to the 888. Stiffer sidewall, more grip and better heat resistance, better in the damp too. I’ve only used them both in medium compound but on various cars. Hasnt the r888 been superseeded now? Never tried the ar-1 but have heard good things, cheap too! But saying that I heard good things about the ns2r’s, whilst they’re a pretty good dry weather fast road tyre they’re not comparable with the yoko or Toyos. Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted July 25, 2018 There is the r888r also which is from what I have read not too clever in the wet but has better wear rate and sidewall than the r888. I need to stick to listed MSA approved tyres so some suggestions will be no good. Peter I have not come across the A050. Will look into them and the AR1 as well. SweetBadger 94 Posted July 25, 2018 Looks like the A050 has been added to the List 1C tyres. Would be good to try them, where did you get them from? Have tried A048 & R888R - not much between them, apparently the R888R is a big improvement on the old R888.
