I'd like to know if anyone has an insurance policy that covers two cars, on the understanding that only one is ever driven at one time. For example I have an S2000 as a fast road car, and a 205 as a track car, as I can only physically drive one at a time, is there an insurance provider that anyone uses that could provide cover for both, but only one to be driven at one time? SootySport 23 Posted July 18, 2018 Not heard of that idea before but worth trying a specialist insurer such as A Plan, Footman James, Sky, Adrian Flux etc. I insure two cars separately, both 2000 miles a year Westfield SEIW 2litre for £99.50 a year. 205GTI 1600 for Exactly £100 a year. Add the two premiums together and £200 a year is cheap by my reckoning. Both with A Plan insurance brokers. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
barneys66 122 1 Cars Posted July 18, 2018 My classics are an average of £100 each with RH Classics, including breakdown (euro too), windscreen, parts not fitted, salvage retention, etc. The daily is £300 on top of that with a separate provider. I don't have any of mine on an 'agreed value' policy as none of them are exceptional, i.e. the market value for each would suffice. As such, I have given them each a general valuation and, should the worst-come-to-the-worst, then I'll debate the true market value at the time with RH. In any case I don't expect them to come back with an offer that is exactly my valuation. From my very limited experience with total loss claims (not via RH), it's basically a negotiation based on the insurer's derisory scrap value and real-world replacement values. HIC insured my 205 for years (when it was on the road) with all mods, cage, charger , various different engines etc with no problems at all, fantastic company. Aren't Adrian Flux and HIC owned by the same company now? I agree HIC used to be very good, but I've no recent experience of them to know if that's still the case.
