Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted July 13, 2018 He doesnt do covers, just the material to make them. I bought enough to retrim entire car and one replacement bolster for under £300. This is very very true, it took me a lot of research and asking around people I knew in the trade to find my trimmer. Google gave me 2 people in a 60 mile radius. Asking around found 6 more, one who I am using is literally walking distance from me at work, was the cheapest and specialises in classic restoring jobs so highly regarded. Just looking for a ball park figure to factor in the overall rebuild cost. There are trimmers local to me as well but living down in the beautiful south puts the price up. Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted July 27, 2018 I looked at all the options Farmer including youngtimers, their's worked out around 860 for the covers then probably another 100 to 150ish to have them fitted correctly. I couldn't find any good independant photos of them fitted so no idea how well they are sewn etc and their quintet pattern is apparently quite poor. I had seen Dave's fabric in the flesh in a car with both the original and his in and was happy with the fabric. I found him very pleasant and helpful to deal with. I see he has also made a post about recently having a disagreement with a potential customer, guessing this is you from your post? Obviously don't know the ins and outs of what went on and TBH that's between you and him. OzPhil 0 Posted September 7, 2018 A common issue I find with 205 re-trims is the bolsters. They are always very rounded. Picking a trimmer is a minefield too. A friend recently had 2 mini seats done. Went to a bloke who was highly recommended by multiple people. One seat was good, good stitching good tucks and creases the other wasn't. I was lucky that I started with some very good condition bolsters apart from one which was replaced.
