mmt 15 Posted April 28, 2018 Hi Guys, I am prepairing My shell for a re-spray. I want to remove the rubber (seals?) in the door opening. Are they only pop riveted to the body? How do I get them of and are they re-usable once the car has been painted? Thanks.
Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted April 28, 2018 Stuck on with foam tape. Pull the pins out then carefully peel/cut the seal off. Time consuming job is to clean off all the old tape from the rubber.
mmt 15 Posted April 28, 2018 Thanks a lot. You say “Pull the pins out”? Are they not rivits to be drilled out? The prior owner printes the car with the rubber seals on. Left it rather ugly with paint on the rubber. Any good ideas How to get the paint removed from then rubber? Thanks again.
