After fitting the head on my engine build I've discovered I need 2 shims. Went to the dealer and predictably they cant supply them.

Any body give me advice mw where to get them from please?

shims were still used till 2007 so getting them should not be an issue, any engine/cylinder head rebuilder will have a stock of them too.

If you need thinner , you can "trim" them down  ..

As above , also most aftermakret car part shops have them these days aside from OE .

Full list of shim sizes & part numbers;  valve shim numbers.txt

They are still available according to service box, downside is last time I bought some you had to by several of each size & prices of them were increasing.

Have you tried calling the number I gave you?

How are you saying the numbers? The important part is 090653 and 090685 which shouldn't be a problem to get.

I put them both into servicebox and they're fine, and they aren't marked NFP so they /should/ be easy to get.

They're either doing it on purpose or they are breathtakingly incompetent.

Phone Dave and you'll get a sensible answer then you'll probably never phone the Ipswich dealer again.

I took them from service box last night so I know they are good numbers & they match the list I attached which I used before to order some shims when I needed them.

Like Kieran says, you just need the first six digits, I highly suspect it's their incompetence!!

Graham,

Sorry should have replied to this sooner. It was indeed the dealers incompetence. Got the shims ordered from them in the end. Thanks very much.
