Thermostat housing, either find one with the end left cast in as mentioned above, or machine a simple alloy plug and TIG weld it in, easy job to someone with a lathe and welder.

I agree with Welshpug. No need to re-invent the wheel. Get a coil pack from a late model 8V, which also blanks off the dizzy hole.

Small Update.

Sorted the dizzy blank, as recommended....core plug. A little gasket sealant and all sorted. Simply alloy bracket holding  wasted coil pack .

Finally decided re-angling the pedals to sort out the seat positioning wasn't the best option so decided to go down the pedal box road, that way providing greater flexibility for seat positioning for different drivers. After the motorsport show decided that paying a few extra quid for something decent was going to pay off. However then stumbled across this. Tilton unit. So pedal box mount section fab'd up and welded in. Throttle pedal Mk1 made up, utilising the arm to maintain the original throttle cable set up.

Deciding on moving to hydraulic clutch , next challenge clutch actuation. Following on from feedback from another post. Going to try this set up, this picture is of a early stage in the design, however I do have video of the final mock up but due to size will have to strip out coupe of pics if anybody is interested. Some webbing removal was needed to provide some extra clearance for the cylinder. But signs look good with operating the unit on air. Some extension of the actuation arm side will probably be needed when the clutch is in situ and the gearbox on the car. However the cylinder does provide 35mm travel, which equates to around 12mm on the release bearing fork.

I think by far the most challenging was DIYing a flock job on the dash.......what a flocking job that was! After three attempts , testing technique and replacing the s*it glue with a home made solution that provided better results. Not perfect but it will do for now.

The buttons on the side are for the DASH2pro

 

Treated myself to new flywheel. Would anybody confirm  the reference angle to TDC the missing teeth are?  The item is a spoox item.

Small update, with the lockdown on given us the time to get a lot of small but time consuming jobs done within the engine bay , that being carbs, throttle cable, oil catch tank, sensors installed in  readiness for laying out the bay engine loom, fuel lines etc etc etc

One thing I have in production at the minute is a revised G/B mount to pick up the original mounting points on the top of the chassis leg.

Decided on a small brake upgrade upfront. The calipers have since been replaced with 207 2.0HDI to fit 26mm wide disc and pads . These must of been from another smaller cc model.

Maybe not ever bodies cup of tea , but got bored one night and decided to sort out the  fuel pick in readiness for new external pump & AN-6 PTFE lines. At the minute rev1design. ( Ignore the barbed fitting, won't be used)
