jeremy 71 Posted October 11, 2017 Firstly the last time I had to buy a 185/55/15 was about 15 years ago and generally people were opting to use Eagle F1s or Toyo Proxies on a 195/50/15 because they were good and 195/50/15 seemed cheaper in comparison. Now I will need to buy 4 new tyres for my 205 running full 309 suspension/rear beam set up, and as such will there be enough clearance for a 195 or have costs dropped on the 185. Will only be using the car for general road use and will be doing very low annual mileage.
welshpug 1,666 Posted October 11, 2017 185 section tyres have become quite scarce, however thankfully a Michelin Pilot Sport in a 195 50 is very cheap and a bloody good tyre, its not worth the small saving for budget things like toyo, yoko got the Parada all wrong too. if its more of a trackday thing then an AD08R is not a lot more than a michelin, and performs better than an old far more expensive R888. petert 601 Posted October 12, 2017 Pilot Sport 3 in 185x55/15 is only AUS$172. I wouldn't call that expensive, but rather excellent value for money.
welshpug 1,666 Posted October 12, 2017 unfortunately unavailable in that size for the European market.

welshpug 1,666 Posted October 12, 2017 well we do have the PS3 but only in 195 50, they're around the £70 now what with brexit bollocks screwing the exchange rate (they were low £50's) Fixed that for you not sure the wildlife trying to kill you is a good thing Steve... jackherer 543 Posted October 13, 2017 I paid £230 a few months ago for four Pilot Sport 3s in 195/50. That's only AUS$389 for four. I just checked Amazon and they are £65 each now so it has gone up a little bit.

dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 15, 2017 I've got a set of very very good AD08R's on a set of 15" refurbished 405 alloys, Ouragans I think they are called, correct offset for a 205, that I would sell as a whole if interested. I've got these tyres on my 205 and also my mini, and they are great tyres.
jeremy 71 Posted October 17, 2017 Are Uniroyal Rainsport 3 any good?
Anthony 1,003 Posted October 17, 2017 They're pretty reasonable and work well in all conditions, atleast judging from my old Mk1 MX5 that had them fitted - not tried them on a 205. They do wear quite quickly compared to some other tyres and the sidewalls are a little soft, but certainly they're good value given how cheaply they seemed to be available when I last looked.
