Exhaust Manifold Recommendations

Recommended Posts

Pugleyrich

I recently ordered a Milltek stainless steel exhaust for my 1.6 and am considering fitting a new exhaust manifold at the same time. My current manifold is leaking (makes a ticking sound) so it is either cracked or the gasket needs replacing.

I can't seem to find a good replacement manifold. Can anyone recommend one, which will fit on my new exhaust without any major modifications?

Thanks

I don't think there's much out there tbh. On eBay there's a 4 branch sold by a German company and there's also the stainless jobbies sold by a UK seller for circa £140, but I think those are the ones whereby the quality is dependent on who made the current batch - as the same company used to do knock off replicas of a 4 branch system for the Mk1 Focus and they were always a bit hit & miss for fitment.

On the more expensive side I'm sure Maniflow still manufacture a 4 branch themselves.

Otherwise it might be a case of either tracking down a decent condition used Magnex, or see if you can get hold another standard non cracked manifold (if it turns out yours is cracked)

Thanks Alex. I had seen those on eBay but was unsure whether they would be any good. I'm interested to hear if anyone has fitted one, or if anyone has an old Magnex available
