DamirGTI 342 Posted September 25, 2017 (edited) Is there any kind of universal seal that might be cut to shape and glued , anyone tried something like that ? can possibly 206 or 106 3door quarter seal be used the same way - cut to shape and glue ?? Really struggling with this after the extremely hot summer mine not only shrunken but the top rubber layer pealed off !! making my 205 an aquarium .. Anthony 1,003 Posted September 25, 2017 Not tried 206/306, but can confirm that 106 seals aren't "fat" enough and leave a gap between the seal and glass even with the window closed.
jackherer 543 Posted September 25, 2017 I've seen some generic seal that could be cut and glued with rubber cement. The only tricky bit would be accurately and neatly cutting it at 45 degrees for the mitre joint in the two corners. Something like ETS1472 from http://sealsdirect.co.uk/shopping.asp?intDepartmentId=68 that might be too small but when I looked into it I did find something suitable, I even have a sample somewhere. If you just want a dry car I'd recommend base model seals and glass, that's what I put on mine and it doesn't leak at all now.
DamirGTI 342 Posted September 25, 2017 Interesting , some of those samples looks promising ! done some digging and there seems to be an firm near me doing the seals per order and selling various profiles as above so will have a look .. Also , found two sets of used seals .. think i'll have a go with these first (205 is my daily drive so i really need something asap !), at least make one set out of two by "cut and add" section .. Found a few base model seals with glass too , the thing i don't quite understand - how these fit in does the glass go in the seal and seals like that ? jackherer 543 Posted September 25, 2017 The base model ones fit just like the front windscreen, they go in using a rope or similar and actually end up a little inset compared to the GTI ones.

DamirGTI 342 Posted September 25, 2017 @ 80 quid per side right ? too much money for an strip of rubber seal ! .. really can't pay that much now . D
tartanbloke 35 1 Cars Posted September 26, 2017 £80 per seal seems reasonable and is what it costs now to get decent parts for our old cars.
farmer 328 1 Cars Posted September 26, 2017 Peugoet charged around that if sold today Quite a complex seal as well
DamirGTI 342 Posted September 26, 2017 I remember them seals being around 40 quid back in the days .. nowdays i really struggle with the money so don't get me wrong if i could spend 80 x 2 for the seals i would . D
jackherer 543 Posted September 26, 2017 They were about £40 but Peugeot ramp up prices as stock runs out so the prices of discontinued parts are always high by the time there are none left.
DamirGTI 342 Posted September 26, 2017 Understood Kieran ! it is almost 30 years old car so it is to be expected , said i would't mind the asking price but now It's not a time for me .. need money for basic life stuff can't stretch off if that now .
