Moring all,

Seems the HG is on the way out, looking to buy a HG set including bolts. Anyone able to recommend the best place and brand(s) to get it from ?

Thanks

Spencer

I use OEM gasket, Payen bolts and seals elsewhere, I have a fairly local engine remanufacturer that can supply parts.

Thank Mei,

Can you still buy a complete kit ? Just rang my local Peugeot and gave price for the HG only. If you cant buy a complete kit can anyone advise what I would need that you would expect to be in a complete kit ?

I have a mate who has and going to help me do it so i can get my hands dirty and hopefully learn a thing or two, but I need to get the parts and as I have not done anything like this before not sure of everything that I need. All that has been suggested is a full HG kit and head bolts.

Thanks

never seen a full kit for the RS engine, there wont be much in it really so build the oe gasket then everything else aftermarket saves a fair few quid.

head kits tend to be more useful for diesels that have numerous gaskets, rocker/cam cover seals egr seals and all that gubbins, or 8v xu's, though half the gaskets in the kits aren't applicable to most engines usually!

Don;t buy a Kit as you normally end up with a crap HG, As above OE MLS gasket and buy the rest separately, Stem seals, Inlet/exhaust gaskets

Ok I have hunted high and low for a mls gasket but the only ones I come across are fibrous ones. Is there anywhere online that I can order one from ?

I don't know many Dealers that sell online...

that said all the aftermarket gaskets I've seen for this engine certainly are MLS anyway, though I wouldn't choose to use any of them over an OEM as they're no cheaper and have the rivet tabs in the wrong place.

I bought a full Payen head kit, and then an additional repair gasket (1.4mm?) from Pug, as I had a skim.
