Any ideas for how to get one undone, mine still has the 6mm Allen drive screws, even my windy gun won't move them stuck solid!

Stick 8mm sump plug socket in the square slot and turn anti-clockwise with a spanner, ratchet or whatever.

Fit new 13mm headed bolts when refitting.

That's worked for me several times but on one occasion it sheared the pillar screw which was pretty tedious to fix.

How did you get the pillar screw out?

I had to drill it out then it needed a helicoil. The chassis leg was in the way too so the engine had to come out, partially at least.

If still in the car, cold chisel and hammer on the periphery. If out of the car, bash in a slightly larger torx bit.

The proper replacements from Peugeot are 13mm hex head with a captivated bellville washer to stop them working loose. Far far easier to work with!

It's definitely worth repeating that. The Mi16 I did that sheared the pillar screw had previously had the belt and tensioners replaced by a so called professional who is no longer on this forum who had reused the original cap screws which were so rounded I'm not sure how he had even tightened them in the first place.

Yeah I'd already bought a bag of ten or so from peugeot, plenty spare if anyone needs a couple!
