Mister Auto - Walker Exhausts

They seem to have a decent discount on them at the minute if anyone is looking/needing.

I think the deal is a bit like Oak Furniture land, a constant sale but no major price changes. A full walker system has always been about £140

Well my rear and middle sections arrived today (eventually) from France, placed order late on 29th. I kid you not, they arrived in two coffin sized boxes filled with they air bag things. The packaging filled an empty wheelie bin.

They look good, much better than the Klarius back box i had which was rusting on arrival and had literally fallen apart after ~5k miles on a car that has never seen rain since it got fitted. Utter fooking sheet.

I'd have considered Bosal if i could have got a middle section to match the backbox that was available. I have a full early Walker system i've had for a few years in my garage and it still looks like new, hence why i opted for them.

I gave the new parts a blast of silver VHT spray anyway just in case.

Only downside is the very end of the tailpiece, the only bit that can be seen!, has been dunted. Aw well, l I'll get it sorted.

But to you post/point, can you point me to where you can get a full system for anywhere near £140 these days? i couldn't find any for anything like that.

It's not rain (or lack thereof) that rusts exhausts, it's generally caused by doing short journeys and not warming them up properly which causes condensation to form and then pool inside the exhaust. Do more than 5k miles and get it properly hot on a regular basis and it will last longer.

I'm not talking about rusting from the inside, it was going brown around the welds on the day of arrival and oxidising on every hit it had had on the way to me. An exhaust hanger fell off it after a few weeks/months, and the welds of the pipe to box, and box to tail piece, looked like it was someone at the Blind School's first go at welding.

Bottom line for me is I'll never buy a Klarius exhaust again, i should have sent it back on arrival but was choking to get on. I think this Walker stuff will prove to be worth the little bit extra outlay in comparison.

Do the Klarius ones turn back to silver after 5k Miles?

On the subject of exhausts I seen that Miltek are now doing a "Peugeot 205 Classic" performance exhaust, which i semi considered, but when i called them they don't have any figures for it, and by sheer coincidence, their local dealer (to me) is next door to a custom exhaust maker who can do it a fair bit cheaper.

I've got one on a Mini and it's very good quality, worth an eyeball for a 205 anyway.

I like the exhaust tip of the Milltek system as that's the sort of look I'd be aiming for mine when Miles gets a system built for my car. Even the exhaust note / tone I could live with (a definite improvement on my OMP  ). However, as always with Milltek, it's the pricing structure that is a bit of a let down, especially when you consider that their DP isn't replicating the OE setup with the split in and the system is sort of being marketed as being "classic / oem+" you'd have thought they'd have at least looked into it. I cant help but think they could have done it if they really wanted to but knew that only a small section of people like us on here would likely want the exhaust built to that spec and anyone else either won't care or notice.

The reason I find it annoying is that I've seen a couple of their custom build twin split / divorced port turbo downpipes that they've made in the past for some Ford RS track / race applications so it can be done, and those were not much over the cost of the single port downpipes.

I do rate their exhausts / build quality but their 205 system is currently priced at £625 RRP (although some retailers seem to discount it to circa £560-£580) which does seem a bit on the high side for what it is (IMO).

Edit - found the thread from last year when the Milltek exhaust was last enquired about too:
