Baker Quarter Badge Repair Kit

Just fitted the pin kit to my badges that's been in my drawer since they came available.

 

Recently bought the grommets, which arrived in a 400x300mm bag! May explain the heavy postage cost.

 

Anyway, has anyone completed fitting them?

 

If so, what did you use for foam washers? I managed to find one and it looks as though they are required to build the seat of the clip out so that it's very slightly prouder than the badge edge?

 

And, did anyone consider nipping the blank end off the grommet so that the badges could be removed again from inside the back quarters without risking destroying them? Sound a good idea?
