toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted May 10, 2017 Anybody put their reg number into this site? I did Holy insurance premiums batman Mines "supposedly" worth 4 times what I've insured it for!!! WTF??
welshpug 1,657 Posted May 10, 2017 never heard of it before, it reckons my 205 is on 195k (its on 160 something and hasn't been motd in nearly 4 years) and gave a value of nearly 5k, ten times what I paid.
toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted May 10, 2017 Haha-must be mike brewer that's running it
jackherer 543 Posted May 11, 2017 It bases it on mileage since the last MOT, mine had a new speedo so the last MOT was done at 0 (zero) miles which apparently makes my car worth £20k! Actually I just looked again, it was £20k a week ago but they estimate I've done 3419 miles now so it is 'only' worth £16,354 now.
Alan77 78 1 Cars Posted May 11, 2017 Yep, mine had replacement clocks fairly early on, so it's way out on mileage. Still a respectable price tho...
Gaz205 50 Posted May 11, 2017 It uses a photo of mine from when it was for sale in the past. Tried my other 3 and 2 out of 3 finds the dealer photo of when it was for sale...
Anthony 1,003 Posted May 11, 2017 Ignoring the valuation part for a minute, that site does appear to have one potentially useful/interesting bit of data that I've not seen on other similar sites - it shows you when changes of registered keeper have occurred. Bizarrely, one of my cars doesn't show any MOT history on Cazana, yet put the same info into other sites and it displays OK. It does display the change of RK and other details though. Gaz205 50 Posted May 11, 2017 It also shows cherished transfers on the car which I personally needed a few years ago when trying to piece together the service history blanks in a book I had for a car. I find that could have been useful to me as I had to write to the previous keepers

Mines £1500 as its my daily and most defo not a show car (still original paint, when does patina turn to shabby? Lol)
Anthony 1,003 Posted May 11, 2017 What am I supposed to tell insurance company? Mines £1500 as its my daily and most defo not a show car (still original paint, when does patina turn to shabby? Lol) I'd be surprised if it was worth that little, given you'll seemingly struggle to buy anything in reasonable condition and with an MOT for less than £2k now and good, usable examples are nearer £3k. The speed in which values have risen has shocked me, and like you I've somewhat undervalued my own car and will be increasing it come renewal time.
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted May 11, 2017 It's seems to show the advert for mine when I bought it, but I've not signed up yet to see exactly what it says.
Mikey S 29 1 Cars Posted May 11, 2017 Just done all 3 of my cars......says my 205 was once black (erm, no...) 196000 estimated miles, 188000 actual, value £3560. Focus, value £7650. No photos. Tiguan, value £6250. Brought up photos from the advert when I bought it. Has anyone signed up for an account yet? Any more info? Mike
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted May 12, 2017 I just paid for the silver service £3.99, it didn't tell me much more than the free version, so I wouldn't bother paying.
toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted May 12, 2017 Wonder if it's the new (digital age) version of the car dealers blue book and the price is what you'd expect to pay on the forecourt Anyway insurance is up in January so I'll need to keep an eye out for prices/value NB closest one to me for sale is in Ullapool at £7500!? Aye ok there's not many left up here-ditches and salts done for most of them lol

toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted May 20, 2017 Ooouuuuch Strangely another transit at work has been written off (not me this time tf!!) Boss got 5k for the pay out. Cazana valued it at 5.5k, so not a million miles out Wonder if it takes average values? What I mean is transits are ten a penny so variances will smooth out on average, but 205s on the other hand are getting rare now so "a record price at auction" would artificially drag up the "average" price ie the crazy high prices of some will drag up the rest of them Ps I know what I'm trying to say even if I can't get it across!! #dumbf@ck
lagonda 42 Posted May 29, 2017 My CTi is on SORN, being now French registered, so no value...but it estimates mileage at 218000....remarkably close to the 222800 actual.
