205 Cti Front Wiper Woes

Hi my 205cti mi16 front wipers are very slow. Even on the max speed I wonder if anyone else has encounted this problem. First thoughts are a new motor Any idears would be helpfull thanks peter

Check the wiper spindles - they dry out and seize up, leading to slow wipers. Providing they're not too far gone, stripping them down for a clean up and regrease works wonders.

 

If they're free moving, then try a replacement motor.

I'll go with what Anthony has said but I'll say that the motor is a big part of it as well. Most 205 wiper motors are approaching 30 years old so are getting a little tired.

 

A 106 wiper motor will fit directly to the mechanism and the wiring plug is the same. I cleaned up my mechanism and fitted a late 106 wiper motor and mine are much better now.
