Rev Counter X 2

Recommended Posts

Silly question but here it goes.

I run a etb digidash in my car which is a great little unit, although i do wish it had a traditional analogue rev counter. Thinking outside the box would it be possible to run another rev counter off the same wire?

I.e i like the shift lights on the unit i have so would rather not loose that and i like the warnings it gives for temp control but also would be nice to see real revs on a gauge.

If not ill stick as i am as only alternative to get everything as i want is a stack dash which i dont fancy forking out for at the min.

You can have multiple tachos without any problems, they wont affect each other in any way. You may find they disagree about the revs though if one isn't as accurate as the other.

Omex iirc? if so that should have a shift light output iirc.

I was thinking if it has an OBD2 port you could use a Bluetooth dongle (£5) and run an App (free) on a tablet like I done on my mini. Then you could pick whatever you want to display, revs, boost, inlet temp, whatever you want really.

But just googled and Omex has an RS232 port, I'm not sure that kind of dongle exists suitable for an already made App.

Maybe worth looking into.
