2.1 Vs 2.2

Recommended Posts

blandy

I have been reading most of the 2.1 or 2.2 xu10 projects in the last few days.

The main question really is what are the benefits of 1 over the other. I.e i have a 88mm crank here to go to 2.1 but thinking along the lines of i am going to need custom rods/pistons either way so would probably be better looking for a 92mm crank and aiming for 2.2.

I just see most people go towards 2.1 but from the offset 2.2 seems more like the obvious choice?

Again for ease/cost would be looking to run a hydraulic profile cam so something like cat cams 109 etc

about 2324cc

not sure if you can even make 100mm work.

dan has had a maths fail, 96x87 is 2283.6cc :P

96x88 is 2336.4cc, which he wont be going as he's already bought some 87mm pistons

xud11 is the 92mm crank yes, that's about £100 more than I paid for my crank I think!

do you know what yours made in the end Mei? As your still on hydraulic profile i believe?

Just like the idea of not having to rev to the moon and also a nice shove of torque
