dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted March 27, 2017 I've got a price over the phone for the complete installation of a tow bar and electrics to a 2013 Transit van. A couple of Q's if anyone can advise. Will it need a relay box? and does the fitter access the electrics at one of the rear lights? do you think the ply lining can stay as is? Not a very good pic, but I assume the ply lining must allow us access to change the back lamps etc, do you think that would be adequate for the fitter? Miles 331 1 Cars Posted March 27, 2017 Depends on the fitter, most just scotch lock into the rear lights with a little buzzer, Not sure with Fords but Pug do a special relay box with a separate 12v feed so the trailer lights don;t dim and the Fog light works, it's why even in a 205 you have some spare wires in the back
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted March 28, 2017 Ah thanks Miles, so you think there's a slim chance this Aux 12v may already be around the light? £270 sound ok for the lot supplied and fitted?
toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted March 28, 2017 That's all right for a fitted towbar as companies are not allowed to fit 2nd hand ones New transit custom has to be hooked up to computer after a towbars fitted (supposedly) Of course it's free to just use mirrors when reversing instead of relying on the towball 'bump' lol
