Towing 205

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to tow a 205 with no driveshafts in? Or will the bearing come apart as the driveshaft and nut keeps the bearing/hub together doesn't it?

Need to get my shell home from my lock-up but only have a towing bar.

Thanks.

the bearing will come apart yes.

if its a 1.9 you can separate the outer CV on original equipment shafts and use them to keep the bearings together, with a 1.6 I have used an old rear stub axle and a few washers to bolt it all up.

It's a 1.6 but unfortunately I don't have any spare stub axles/driveshafts I can cut up or use, only need to get it back to weld in the cage as my lock-up has no electric.

A dolley wouldn't be any different on the front would it, will have to see if I can borrow a trailer I think :(
