Good afternoon I just reassembling the 1.9 GTI L reg and noticed the clock was not working . FUse F7 has blown and blows if I try a spare . BUT is a direct short in the circuit . Any ideas .... is there a central locking relay i can pull out to start isolating things .

Cheers in advance .

Looking good

Interior light switches/boot light earthing out?

Radio wiring doing same?

Or buggered central locking module?-would think that would only blow when activated though?!?!

I'm heading for central locking module I may take the dash out and check radio wiring . What a pain . Does any one know if you can isolate the central locking from some where ?.

Usually the central control module is fixed to the steering column on a bracket using the main column fixing studs iirc.

Well I'm loosing will on this one

I disconnected the central locking units in the doors and the boot . The clock I disconnected and also broke the dash . Disconnected the interior light . The radio was never connected . I also disconnected two plugs going to a black box left of the steering column .

I may have to make a new circuit . Any one have any ideas ?. I must admit I didn't check the boot light .

Cheers
