Wiring Questions

I began to assemble the wiring that runs behind the dashboard today and ran into a couple of snags that are really just questions about plug identitypost-26334-0-28261300-1485978683_thumb.jpgII assume that this two pin socket is for the glovebox light switch. post-26334-0-28183000-1485978807_thumb.jpgpost-26334-0-28183000-1485978807_thumb.jpg

I am not sure what these two single plugs are for or where they go. Certainly not into the fusebox and I have already identified the glovebox light connectionspost-26334-0-54852000-1485978992_thumb.jpg

This two pin plug is connected to the tailgate central locking motor ( wire numbers 200 and 201) I could not find any two pin socket to fit it too, but think I have discovered my error as I have a two pin connector that fits into the AA socket on the fuse board which is the one for the fuel pump. I think I have plugged the central locking connector that comes from the control unit on the other side of the dash into that socket into that AA hole as I have removed the fuel pump feed for the moment as it will be switched by my K6 ecu via a new relaypost-26334-0-54852000-1485978992_thumb.jpgpost-26334-0-06912000-1485979696_thumb.jpg

And finally, this single plug connected to a brown lead seems to have no home at all.

If anyone can shed any light on any or all of this, I would be most grateful. Oh, car is a 1992 1.9 gti. The Haynes manual and other stuff on here has been hugely useful.

Cheers,

Andy

The two single spades near the glovebox are for the glovebox light itself. You can see the bulb holder/contacts are still attached.

The rear central locking wiring plugs into the front central locking loom from memory and not into the fuse box directly. Should plug into a matching yellow 2-pin plug.

I would still suggest running the fuel pump through the fusebox, as that way it'll be fused by the 15 amp fuse.

Thanks. Yes. The glovebox light connections are clear . It is the brown and yellow plugs I am not sure about shown on the same photograph, and also on a different shot, the single black plug on a brown cable. For the fuel pump, I have a fused relay that will run that( Actually a bank of four fused relays for fuel pump, rad fan, injectors and ignition coils )

I can't help directly, but maybe snapping open the plugs will expose the wire numbers?

That is a good point. I will do that and then see if I can find the numbers on the wiring diagrams. The single black plug with a brown lead is very hard to read mind!
