Gti-Less For The First Time In 12 Years

My Mi went this evening -_-

No, it didn't shat itself! Tomorrow it'll be on it's way down to South Wales to it's new owner, whom I have every confidence will do a fine job of bringing it back up to scratch judging by his previous 205s.

3 months short of 10 years and somewhere under 10k miles with me, most of which time has been spent idle . Most expensive car I've ever bought, plus a few thousand quid more of wasted money (my own fault though), and I sold it for..........£900 (we really need a facepalm smiley on here)! Oh well, I look at it that my employer funded it as the years we were in London and it wasn't used I was getting a company car allowance, so, meh. Still, I'm nothing if not consistent, it continues my bad habit of selling cars far too cheap!

Hopefully the new owner will comment on here once he has it. I know he's excited about tomorrow :)

Steve, I feel your pain. Still I hope to be able to follow its resurrection here. Stick around here though, wouldn't be the same without you.

Thanks Steve. I've had nothing of any value to contribute here for probably the last 7 years, and it hasn't stopped me! So I won't let a little thing like being an ex-205 owner stop me from popping in to spam the place up.

As WP said, engine is not great although it still runs, and needs a strip, block deck sorted out and rebuilt. And the fact it's been laid up so long it'll need a bit of money spent recommissioning it - full set of tyres for a start, rebuild all the brakes, maybe strip and inspect the beam to be on the safe side and then just little bits and bobs.

Prob could have got a bit more for it at it is really solid, but at the point I offered it for 900 I was on a real downer with it and didn't appreciate it's true condition. It wasn't until I pulled it out the garage and went right through it taking videos for Aaron that I realised it wasn't as bad as I remembered. But I don't like going back on my word so I honoured the price.

Besides, when all the money bulls*it is set aside I feel like it's gone to a good home, he's going to enjoy it, his boys will enjoy it, and it's a weight off my mind now it's gone.
