1.6 8V Exhaust Ring Gasket, Manifold Gasket Size?

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question, I think there are 2 different size exhaust ring gaskets for the Gti? Do's anyone know the 2 sizes? I think one is around 65mm but not sure on the other. Cheers

All 8v GTi's use the same gasket. There is confusingly two different kits listed on Servicebox, but the gasket itself is the same on both, it's just the number of fixings included that differs.

Ah that's interesting as a mate of mine mentioned that in the past the main dealer kits had 2 sets of bolts, 1 set of springs etc AND 2 different size gasket? I seem to remember that was all correct but only one gasket? I have a 65mm here and that didn't fit, manifold was clean with no old gasket left etc? No different gasket on year change/ 1.9/1.6 etc?

The two kits I mentioned are 1798.80 and 1798.75 - the gasket itself is the same, it's just the fixings that differ between the kits (one has less fixings and is cheaper)

1798.80 is listed for non-CAT 1.6 and 1.9 GTi models throughout the entire production run. 1798.75 is listed for post-1990 CAT models and various later PSA cars (306 etc) including Mi16 and GTi-6.

The larger gasket ring kit is 1798.68 I believe - that's the one used on 306 S16 models.

Lovely cheers, I'll go to main dealer and see if they have either and go from there.
