Yep saw it earlier, I was really hoping Citroen would return to the front but unfortunately Meeke did his usual. Was a good watch though, was gutted for Neuville aswell. I think this year will be very close,Toyota,Ford,Hyundai and while it was running Citroen all looking very competitive.

Not just seen it - I've been in the 2017 Fiesta WRC back in November with Elfyn Evans. Got to be the most exciting thing I've ever been in and am ever likely to get a run in! The noise inside the car was like an Audi S1 sounding like a 5 cylinder. Unbelievable technology even down to being able to change the point when the handbrake started to work by fractions of a millimetre plus the opening of the centre diff. We spent a full day and watched 50 or so launch control starts.

 

I was around back in the 80's and was amazed by the Group B cars but these are a league ahead in speed and handling. We're fortunate in that we can go and watch them most Thursday afternoons when they test just down the road from our house. Definitely worth a trip to Wales Rally GB this year and I never thought I'd ever say that.

 

And Elfyn Evans was sooo focused he's definitely got the potential to be one of the best British drivers.

 

Here's a couple of photos including one of my son after his time in the car with Elfyn. Don't think he realised how lucky he was to be the first non team person to go in the new car.

I watched the highlights & live action on Redbull tv on Saturday, definitely looks good for the year.

 

I like the look of the Fiesta wrc, hope the back lights are part of a model update for the road going Fiesta soon.

 

The C3 looks promising too, in all I agree it's going to be an intertesting season this year.

hard to tell from the clips Ive seen so far, as there wasn't a great deal of grip available, but they sound much better than they have done in a while, more akin to the early 2000's 2.0 stuff.

 

Yaris and the C3 sound good with their Squirrel Mincer noises

 

Can't wait to see them on Tarmac.

The fiesta is a brand new shell. Not yet released by ford until later in the year.
