Phil205 1 1 Cars Posted January 19, 2017 Hi, my clutch cable just snapped. Where can I buy a new one ? Do dealers stock them? XU5JA Engine.
toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted January 19, 2017 Motor factors Dealers now sell "first line" brand as they've run out (certainly of be1) so you're not going to get Peugeot anyway If there's a motor factor you trust-just use them Ps when you're in a hurry-no buggers got one!!! Miles 331 1 Cars Posted January 19, 2017 In stock here, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-GTi-1-6-amp-1-9-Gti6-Mi16-BE-3-Clutch-Cable-Phase-1-5-amp-2-/282059190674?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT for a BE3 box, I do have BE1 cables too, the in between one of late 89 is hard to find
welshpug 1,657 Posted January 19, 2017 your local Motorfactor would still be able to get you one, you will have a BE1 box and a Clevis pin attachment on the pedal end if your car is unmodified.
welshpug 1,657 Posted January 19, 2017 here you go, looks like one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-205-1-9-GTi-1987-90-NEW-UNIPART-CLUTCH-CABLE-/282070733827 I believe that will do the trick, take yours off and compare it.
Phil205 1 1 Cars Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) here you go, looks like one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-205-1-9-GTi-1987-90-NEW-UNIPART-CLUTCH-CABLE-/282070733827 I believe that will do the trick, take yours off and compare it. Many thanks. I believe my car has a BE3 gearbox. Could that be right ? Reverse is top left. Would it be this part for the BE3 gearbox :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-GTi-1-6-amp-1-9-Gti6-Mi16-BE-3-Clutch-Cable-Phase-1-5-amp-2-/282059190674?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Are they easy enough to fit yourself or is it best for a garage to do ? I have adjusted mine before, so know where it fits to. Edited January 20, 2017 by Phil205

jackherer 543 Posted January 20, 2017 I believe my car has a BE3 gearbox. Could that be right ? Reverse is top left. If reverse is top left by first with a lift up collar you have a BE1 gearbox.
Phil205 1 1 Cars Posted January 20, 2017 If reverse is top left by first with a lift up collar you have a BE1 gearbox. Thankyou. I had thought it was a BE3 gearbox, but it sounds like it is a BE1. I am sure you guys know what you are talking about. Hopefully I should be able to get this sorted now. Many thanks for all the responses. It really is appreciated.
Alan77 78 1 Cars Posted January 20, 2017 BE1 cables are pretty cheap on eBay, I think there's a motaquip one on there for a fiver at the moment. (New old stock) Don't forget about the pin that rests in the lever arm...
tartanbloke 35 1 Cars Posted January 20, 2017 Also, there is usually a reason for the cable snapping and you may find that your clutch requires replacing.
Phil205 1 1 Cars Posted January 24, 2017 The garage had to order in 3 different cables to get the right one. In the end, they said it was First Line Part No. FKC1103 that was needed. https://www.aceparts.co.uk/113210-first-line-clutch-cable Strangely enough - Amazon says it is the wrong part for my car ! https://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Line-FKC1103-Clutch-Cable/dp/B00GSQVPHW Many thanks for everyone's help.
