Malc 45 Posted December 21, 2016 Well its almost the end of the year and interested to find out what sort of money people have spent maintaining or upgrading/re-building their 205s in 2016. Obviously too much in some cases, however reflecting back Im quite surprised at how little I have spent considering I rebuilt a full motor including a complete engine change mid year. Basically I reshelled a car, installed a cage, fitted a new engine, changed my complete front brake set up and bought new (used) speed lines and tyres this year. Totalling well in excess of £1000, however with the sale of parts no longer required, including my old brake set up, and a bonus sale of the old registration plate on my last 205, my total spend was only a few hundred quid, excluding tax and insurance. This is well down on previous years, Anyone else had any nice surprises this year, or a horrendous wallet munching one?

toolie72 67 1 Cars Posted December 21, 2016 Nothing, zero, nada Well that's my point of view-not necessarily the wife's?!?! Everything I sell on eBay (crap!!) goes into PayPal and pays direct to seller or I take money out Therefore-I didn't have to work for it so it's free However I will concede that I've sold about £1500 worth of stuff on eBay but the wife doesn't need to know that-honest I'm saving the environment by selling stuff-it's getting recycled-I should get an obe from the queen!! (more likely to get an effing tax bill from her though lol)

Andy 105 1 Cars Posted December 24, 2016 Far too much. Part way through a full rebuild. The respray was over £3000. Engine build documented in my projects thread but has gone over the £2000 mark. Brakes, rebuilt gearbox , rear axle etc. That is another £1500 . I had better stop. However, it should not cost much when I have finished it, he said hopefully. And 15 1 Cars Posted December 24, 2016 (edited) With mine been a stage car I don't think I want to go there.. haha but it's not been to bad I put a lot into the engine and gearbox end of last year so they were no issue this year although we had a few shaft issues in the end and the rear 3ways was a bit of a out lay and next front ones will be a even bigger one.. but that's next year, bugets don't bother....
