Strange Hesitation

Recommended Posts

Juttie205

After refitting my engine all seems to be good until revs go just over 3k under load i get a awful hesitation and rev counter jumps around I found connections on coil were loose so fitted new ones but no change also played around with ignition timing and thought i had cracked it but just been out and its back.

I did notice tonite that when i put my indicator on i could just faintly see my battery light coming on also the rev counter does nothing for approx 10 secs after start up then works fine.

Any ideas would be great.

The hesitation sounds like the ignition amp and the dim battery light is either a faulty alternator or more likely a bad connection somewhere between the alternator and the battery or between the alternator and the warning light.

The only time I have seen a 205 rev counter that was slow to start working it was a fault with the rev counter itself.

Yeah just found out ignition amplifier should have had heat transfer paste on back whoops.

Ah yeah that'll do it. You may solve it just by adding some paste in that case, it isn't necessarily a lost cause.
