Roll Cart Lid Struts

Hi

hope this is query is in the right forum.

I want to fit gas struts to my old Bluepoint (Sunex) roll cart lid. Can't find any mention in catalogs of the specifics. Can anyone

tell me the length/rating or part number on theirs?

I had a quick look but there were no part numbers that I could see. Open length was 435mm and closed around 265mm. I'd pop to your local scrap yard with a tape measure, bound to be something suitable there.

Maybe car ones bit heavy,(?) but I've seen some on our favourite online auction house rated 17N (about 35lbs). Snap On replacements I've found there are rated

 

49lbs, 39lbs and 15lbs.

 

When they get here from China, I'll report back in case it's of use to anyone in future, thanks again.
