Brake Fluid Leak Inside Car!

Recommended Posts

Chip1

Having stripped the inside of the car, I've noticed that there is a fluid leak around the rubber grommet where the brake pedal piston enters the servo through the bulkhead. I've noticed that the fluid reservoir is pretty full. Could this cause it to leak into the servo or has something 'let go'?

only way fluid can enter the cabin is through the servo due to a leaky master cylinder, for it to get that far the servo is likely full of brake fluid!!

Ah ok thanks. The master cylinder was replaced by the previous owner and this definitely isn't leaking. Could it be that the previous mc gave out and filled the servo? If so will this cause a problem/can it be drained?

Many thanks

If I was you I'd try clean the bulkhead and chassis leg joint area with brake cleaner/rags etc.

If you don't stop it, brake fluid will eventually eat it's way through the metalwork, and it is a difficult and awkward area to weld due to fuel pipes, sound deadening inside the car etc

Assuming you're not too late.
