Standard Power Of A 1989 1.9 Gti

Anyone tell me what the claimed standard power was on an 89 1.9 gti as I can never remember lol

Non-CAT 1.9 GTi's are 128hp, although in reality most didn't/don't make that.

A GOOD 1.9 will make 128 however Peugeot were optimistic with their numbers-rs turbos made 130 so they couldn't really be outdone in the numbers game-many people have spent money just to end up with the 128/130 it was supposed to have in the first place!

 

Perversely at the same time vw said their 16valver made 137 when in reality most made more (still prefer my old s*itbox 205 tho hehe)
