The Right Timing Belt Kit

I'm buying a cambelt kit from ECP. My 205 is an 1989 model, 1.9. I'm right in thinking its the 113 tooth one and not the 114 tooth I need? The latter being for cars made 01/92 > ?

You're correct in that you car will be the 113 tooth belt and spring tensioner setup.

 

You tend to find that most 1992 cars actually use the same setup, presumably because the engines were built a while before being fitted. I've owned or worked on several 1992 registered cars and I think I've only seen one with the later setup.

unless you've had it from new and know the engine hasn't been changed, check it!

 

very easy, look for the nut at the rear of the block just above the water pump.
