I'm sure I was reading a topic about this but can't find it anywhere? Was it part of someone's build topic?

cant be too bad as a lot of vans used a cable, though I'd imagine that the pedal is longer to get the leverage.

on the 306 v6 i helped build we did try our own homebrew cable setup which wasn't too bad, though the bearing failed and the project sold on, thinking back it may have overstroked but i never saw the parts afterwards.

goliath used to have a cable too but saw the light after paul did his hydraulic setup.

The release bearing failed?

Will this "kit" be the same for the d8 and d9 gearboxes?

To be fair it's probably as easy and definitely cheaper to do the hydraulic clutch..

Has anyone come up with a fool proof way of removing the gearbox yet?

If I can do it you def can, only took me couple days. I dislike the cable setups with a passion!

Top tip, get two or three master cylinders as I went through a couple through trial and error!

why do you need 3 masters?

not sure what you mean calvin about the gearbox removal?

I think the clip on the release bearing failed, probably because we removed it from the pressure plate and its not designed to do so once fitted on first installation, its a 3 piece kit and it clips into place the first time you push the pedal down.

I have a hydraulic clutch on mine, Used the 206 master cylinder (has bolt holes) and the new D9 slave for the bleed nipple.

I attached the master cylinder at the bottom of the pedal box and threaded the rod to allow adjustment.

Clutch is perfect, shame I keep snapping driveshafts.

I've got a cable setup that I'm probably going to sell as I'm going to run the 206 setup. It uses a wilwood cylinder off an pivot/arm setup that bolts to the top of the gearbox. I can get a pic if you like.

Edit: Here we go. Was part of the package I bought.

Very similar to the goodwood that, angle of the push rod going into the willwood meant the seals failed very quickly.
