Best Rust Stopper

As the topic says, I have surface rust on the boot floor. I've never used a rust stopper liquid. The plan is to wire brush it down and apply a rust stopper / converter and apply some primer. Are there any tried and tested brands? It's not something I've ever used before tbh

I've found FE-123 to be the best. Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 is also not too bad.

Kurust I used, after wiring brushing it all back to bare metal, then a bit of red oxide primer and a bit of paint - no issues 3.5 years on

I don't know how the price compares with others, but I've used Ferrozinc for years and it works perfectly!

I'd be inclined to use something like deox-c gel from bilthamber to remove the rust completely as opposed to using a covertor. Personal experience but I've never had much success with convertors.

 

Problem i found is that if there is pitting in the metal the covertor won't penetrate all the way through leaving the rust to eventually spread again a while down the line.

Thanks very much for the replies, I've been given some kurust coincidentally now by a friend. I would be silly not to give it a go for free. I may post results on here and write a little review

If your willing to spend a bit the best stuff I have found is dinitrol. Ive used the full kit on my terrano and that takes a beating. The rust convertor just works very well in my opinion and jap 4x4s rust for fun.
