Rust In Rear Of Wheel Arches

Recommended Posts

Telf

I took my rear lights out today and discovered I can see through to the tyres on both sides. The body has gone rotten in the vicinity of the rear side bumper mounts. Has anybody else had this issue? Looks like a lot of work to fix.

Pretty common I'm afraid. Mine was exactly the same.

There are some repair plates available from SkyQuake in the group buy section titled "rear bumper mounting brackets"

The bumper needs to come off an all the rotten panel removed then the new bit welded in.

Good luck

Over the last couple of years I've had to send the car in twice to a bodyshop as the front of the rear arch has rusted. Does the water getting kicked up from the arch transit via the current hole in the rear and end up rusting the front?

If that makes sense to anyone!
