High Biting Point

Just fitted a new gearbox and clutch cable.Gearbox is a 306 hdi and clutch cable is a 306 gti6.

After having everything fitted the biting point on the clutch is at the very top of the pedal.Been told because it's a auto adjusting cable you cannot set the biting point lower.

Has anyone got a solution to this can the cable be adjusted? If not I may get a custom cable made that's adjustable.

Is this in your 205 bob with the box I sold you, if it is what clutch pedal have you fitted?

 

Yes, the 306 cable is auto adjusting.

 

No need for a custom cable imo, if you still have the original 205 pedal fitted & it's a be3 car then you should be able use a standard 205 be3 clutch cable.

No Graham it's the same box I got off you but it's fitted to a 306 gti6 it's a pull type cable bit it's not worked out.I have been advised to fit a Citroën ZX late type cable.If that don't work out I will get a custom cable made once I get the Gti6 cable off.

No one else seems to have had this problem.

OK, did you swap the clutch fork to the pull type then too?

 

The hdi box I sold you used the push clutch just like the 205.
