There's more pictures of that car on Retro Rides. I'd suggest anyone interested might want to study them closely.

It's here - Retro Rides Link

Shall we say that it looks a lot better in the Car And Classic advert and that it has probably had a somewhat chequered history?

f*** me, if that's worth 800 I need to advertise my garage ornament for a bag of sand! At least mine is complete and not a patchwork quilt!

"that said it will make a cracking car once done"

is he trying to be funny?

It's a ridiculous statement, and one I've seen often. "Once done", well yeah, you could take most anything, in any condition, and given enough time, money and willpower, make it "done".

And it probably will be a cracking car. Cracking at the welds.

Rotten! Would be a lot of work to properly get rid of all the hidden rust, including whatever is lurked under the flaking paint and filler.

Just looked at the Retro Rides link again - cos I'm bored - and it may not be a cut and shut but at least it's had a really bad full respray from red to topaz. So all the stuff about the paint being good on one side and the outer sills being the best he's seen, is hyperbole and nonsense. He says ""The pictures seem to make the car look better than it actually is", well Holy f*** it must be truly awful then! And the boot floor being good? Yeah, judiciously slap Hammerite all over the rust until it's no longer brown, and it becomes good.

I'm off to stick my non running Mi16 on Gumtree for £3.5k. I figure it's a fair price they way things are going.

I personally liked the way he makes a point about the boot being good... and then proceeds to add a picture showing 5 separate patches where presumably it was rotten, a small rust hole on the rear seam, and it being bent and deformed from where it's obviously been rear-ended at some point in its life :D

the blue one has no signs of red that I can see after the drivers side floor pan, so I doubt it's a full respray, no signs of red on the roof or boot, and no pug stickers on the turrets either.

It's an old repair that never got finished IMO, and the windscreen is flawless because it's probably new.....cos somebody went through the last one heed first!

Can anyone ask about the red out of interest?

I almost viewed this car about a month ago but too many things just didn't add up with it. in my opinion its had a front inner wing/chassis/a post/floor section welded in on the o/s.
