205 Cti 1.9 - Jetronic Or Motronic

Recommended Posts

What should they have from the factory? I've seen a few have the jetronic but I thought that as it was catalysed it should have the motronic? I also saw one of the "Japanese imports" and this also had motronic...

Just curious as I'm planning to get one, I know the 1.6 is a bit quicker, but I already have one and this would be more of a cruiser which I think the 1.9 will lend itself well to.

depends on year and market, ive seen a few lu2 lambda and vat equipped ctis, a few years older than the m1.3 motronic system

I'd go motronic or 1.6 as parts are easier to find if you keep it standard

Thanks. It would be kept stock. So, the 1.9 105bhp wasn't that common? I think it's the same as the gentry but they didn't make many of those anyway...

The 1.9 UK DFZ / XU9J1/AZ ones are Jetronic with an ECU which ends in the number 345 and have a bespoke AFM too. They all come with power hoods but the of the stuff is optional. Note that a power hood is a totally different frame to a manual one and the rear quarter windows are different too and need to match the hood frame.

1.9 is a nice cruiser with plenty of torque and a short gearbox. However you can bolt a 2.0 turbo manifold to them and with a few other tweaks then they go a bit quicker!

Thanks for this Henry. Interestingly enough I have seen a late 93 one where the guy selling it says that the power hood no longer works so it was replaced for a manual one... Makes me think...
