Hi everyone. Have my Gti running fairly good compared to what it was when I bought it. My next issue to fix goes like this. When I'm driving the car all is good, quick throttle response nice flow of power. But when I come off the power it takes that few seconds to go into full slowing mode. When I lift off it starts to slow but takes that 1-2 seconds to die fully and you can feel the difference. Hope I've explained this enough.

the thing that springs to mind to check is the throttle switch, make sure you get continuity from the middle pin to one of the outer two when the throttle is at rest, conversely you can check the opposite works, the full throttle switch which you do by checking from the middle pin to the opposing outer terminal to the closed throttle position switch.

it could be that the throttle is a little too far open, or the last bit of travel in the afm is a bit sticky.

When you say throttle switch are you referring to the position sensor. Have had the AFM off n cleaned. I suppose it would be no harm to do the same with the throttle body.

Cheers for the reply.

kind of, they don't have a sensor as such, its a simple off/full throttle switch rather than a potentiometer.
