Fuel Smell And Blow Back

Recommended Posts

I've recently got a strong fuel smell inside the car and now when filling up i get the annoying 'blow back' the petrol pump clicks and the fuel wont freely go into the tank like the tank breather is blocked.

Ive had my tank off a year or so ago when i stripped the car down, i can't remember the details of the breather set up. is there a way of clearing it out without taking the tank out? don't know if i could take the pump out and get an air line in the tank to blow the breather line out?

I'd be interested in the answer to this, same issue and just need to know what's at fault so I don't strip the whole car down when it could be a 5 minute repair....

I had this, it was a blocked breather, they fill up with mud. The end sits in the drivers side rear wheel well...easy to clean out and off you go.
