Quick Question On Wheel Offset/width (Gti 1,9)

Recommended Posts

sorrentoaddict

Hello everybody (after a while...)

I am resurrecting an old 205 project these days, and I would need some 'direction' as follows:

is it possible (and what would be the ideal offset?) to use 8x15 wheels on

a 1991 GTI 1,9 (w.stock rear axle/front susp.arms) ?

(NOTE: car will be fitted with Rallye arches, ride height close to stock, 195/45 tyres,

and camber adjustment will be done if needed).

Thanks heaps !

:)

never tried them, i know a 7" wheel is tight and stretches a 195 tyre slightly.

195 45 on an 8" rim will look terrible, especially on a 205.

ask miles, i think he has mentioned 8" wheels but might have been a 306
